Hello there! Is anyone else super excited about the 100th day? I feel like each year after the 100th day, the year flies by!
We had a LOT of fun in first grade this year with the 100th day.
We completed tons of fun activities all day long!
One of my favorite parts of the day was our 100 second challenge activities! I’ve included it as a limited time freebie in my TPT shop! I am working really hard to be able to upload some freebies here, but the cute images are making those file sizes too big. If you have any tips, I’d love to hear them!
Here are our 100 second challenge activities. In these challenges, students have 100 seconds to work towards a goal. The pack includes a recording booklet with a page for each activity and instruction pages for each activity as well.
Check it out here!
Here are a few pictures of some of the challenges (many featuring my son, RJ.)
100 Tile Match!
Cotton Ball Spoon Challenge
Pom Pom Challenge!
We also had a “Reading Marathon” challenge.
I stuck 100 sticky notes to chart paper and my students worked on reading 100 books as a class. When each student finished a book, they came up and filled out (or grabbed depending on how busy the chart was) a sticky note. They each read the books that we have practices in reading group, so it only took about 25 minutes to meet 99 books. I read 100 Snowmen (a math book) to them as our 100th book. They really loved this!
In the morning time, they completed some 100th day centers. My first grade team member created this awesome freebie to help walk you through those.
Happy 100th day!
