Happy New Year! Back to school time is so exciting, and if we’re honest, also exhausting! Over the years I’ve put together some of my favorite back to school activities in case you’re looking to save some time or try something new.

Here are some of my favorites!

This bundle is awesome for teaching school rules and expectations! It includes emergent reader, basic response, and sorting cards for Classroom Rules, Bathroom Rules, and Lunchtime Rules. These are great to use as you get into the swing of academic routines but also want to be reinforcing those expectations. (I wrote more about setting rules here!)

This bundle is great for classroom management as you try to increase independence with your students. An Emergent Reader about following directions, Step By Step work chart, and direction word puzzles help to support you in teaching all about following directions and working independently.

Color by code resources are my favorite for so many reasons, but at back to school time you can use them to help ease into center routines, to help students work independently during morning work time, or as you’re working on assessments (I’ve written about some of my favorite ways to use color by code here) This differentiated bundle includes the Color by Number, Addition to 10 Color by number, and Addition to 20 Color by sum all with a fun school theme.

This cut and paste back to school bingo board is a color, cut, and paste board so students can create their own boards. Great for the first few weeks of school and you can even laminate them and use them throughout the year!

This resource includes common school themed words to support vocabulary along with ABC order pages and a recording sheet to make an ABC order center. Great for word walls and beginning of the year centers.

These quick and easy print and cut clip cards help early learners to practice counting and identifying numbers. Great for morning tubs or math centers.
