In October, we love to write about Columbus Day, Fire Safety, Halloween, Spiders and more!
I have designed these three differentiated journal templates with the same 15 prompts so your students can respond in the way most appropriate for them! Depending on my students from year to year, I sometimes even have different versions working within my classroom!
Print these in as October journal prompts, with some of the October writing papers mixed in ( for free choice writing) or use the prompts and papers separately and use them for a writing assignment or at a writing center. The card writing templates, for example, are always a student favorite!
Three versions are available- 1 half paged writing with a picture space (dotted lines), two page writing (single line) and a draw to respond version.
I have included 15 different prompts- which is a few more than usual because while Halloween is super fun, I understand that some schools do not encourage talking about Halloween. For this reason, I have also included two different journal covers.
As for the list and card templates, I use them in my writing centers to offer a little seasonal touch.
Other topics covered in the prompts are:
October/ Fall favorites and changes
Columbus Day
Fire Prevention
All About Spiders
